I have a D-link wireless router DIR-655 connected to a cable router I have from comcast (SMC8014). I want to use the wireless router as the main router but I can't get wireless computers to connect to the internet. I have D-link USB adapters ont he wireless computers. Do I need to get rid of the cable router and get a basic cable modem?

Well basically the ethernet cord goes into the wireless router so it should work for both. The router *I Believe* can stay because all it does is split the internet, but there might be a problem, your internet might be split too much because of the routers - many splits- and the wireless might not be getting enough internet to get a good signal going. So i recommend using a regular cable router and you can buy wireless usb things for you computer that arent wireless.

If you are having problems connecting your computers to your router here are some things to try.Log into your router and look for these or double check these1. Make sure your SSID is active and broadcasting. 2. Make sure MAC filtering is off for right now. or! If you want to leave MAC filtering on, make sure your computers MAC addresses are in the log.those are the 2 main ones. if those are both fine then Please PM or IM me for more assistance. Prefer IM.Thanks,Dave.
