is it an epson?? if it is, its probably the ink overflow pad that collects all the excess.1. check the ink overflow pad (mine was a grey square, located inside the printer, to the left and near the back) if its full of ink gently pull it out and rinse it out with water... dry it off and replace it.2 hold power + setup + clear until the printer powers off then on3 scroll using the > button until you see something to the effect of "reset ink"press okhold the power button until the printer powers offpower up the printer and see if the warning returns.

Download and install the SSC Service Utility for Epson Stylus Printers. http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtmlorhttp://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/InkPadsForm.jspSelect your printer and model number (There is no Stylus C42 UX, so select Stylus C4x), then close the window. If it asks if you replaced with the pads; say “YES”. Then close the window. You will see a SSC Service Utilitiy icon (it looks like a printer) in the system tray (next to your click), and LEFT click. A menu will appear, from here you can click on “Protection counter” (its a red cross), then “reset protection counter”. Turn the printer power OFF, wait 10 seconds and then turn it back ON.
