Welcome to the site.
I moved your post to its own thread.;)

I am glad your asked this question.

Go to the Main Forum page find the Forum you want to post in or start a thread in by forum name. ie. General Discussions , Say hello! , Jokes etc. Click the link to enter the forum. At the top left of the listings you will see a button marked New Thread. Click it.

A thread is simply a chained set of messages relating to a single topic. This forum is thread-oriented because:
  • Threads are a major time-saver. People can simply skip reading threads whose subjects indicate an uninteresting topic.
  • The original poster can subscribe to a thread, receiving email notification when someone posts a reply. People posting replies can also subscribe. Thus, you can be notified of activity on interesting topics and not worry about other discussions.
Hint: Make your new thread titles meaningful!
Hint: Don't change topics in the middle of a thread! (Called Thread jacking.)
Hint: Avoid starting a thread in the "file section" as this make it hard for users to find new files when they have to weed though questions. Use General Discussions if your not sure where to post. If you see this message DO NOT post questions. Files only."FILE DOWNLOAD & UPLOAD ONLY!!! NO QUESTIONS--NO DISCUSSIONS!!!"

These are the most important reasons for threading. There are more. I hope this answers your questions regarding starting new threads.

To "Reply" to a thread it's basically the same procedure except you are responding to an existing Subject (or thread). To reply just open the thread by clicking on it and then click on the "Reply" button and then respond to the existing post. Or you can use the quick reply at the bottom of open threads.

I attached a picture to help.

It could be your security...
What Internet browser are you using?(click "help" then "about")
What is your browser security set to? Try using default security settings.
