using internet explorer 6

I have Ie 6.0 instaled on my win 98 pc... I have the following problem:
sometimes, when I try to enter a link in a page...I can't the ie places me at the beginning of the page...

Can you help abput this?

I tryied to instal ie 8, but it is for windows xp and I have here a windows 98...

Can I solve the problem without reinstaling the ie?
or reinstaling again the ie6?
