Sea Launch Inks Intelsat Deal, MSV Licenses, Intelsat and MLB

Sea Launch and Intelsat signed a multiple launch services contract for five missions. The agreement starts in late 2010 and lasts through 2012 --- Mobile Satellite Ventures said the Federal Communications Commission has granted licenses for the two gateways in the United States. The gateways being built will support the company's next-generation integrated satellite-terrestrial communication network for North America --- The entities made it official Thursday: Major League Baseball signed a multi-year contract for capacity on Intelsat's Galaxy 17 satellite. The capacity will be used to transmit standard and high-def programming for MLB Network, which will launch in about 50 million cable and satellite TV homes on Jan. 1.
