How to tell you have a Viewsat Ultra Clone:
The latest clones are identical on the outside. Same logo, same colouring of the USB Logo, same screw placement on the rear. Even the bottom screw mounts are similar, but not quite. Why, because the Power Supply is mounted differently.
That is now the only difference.
The only sure way to determine if the VS Ultras are Genuine or Clones, requires the cover to be removed so that a side by side comparison between the two can be made.
I post the 2 to compare. Please note the Arrangement on the Board and where the USB Cable connectors are located.
The 1st picture is the clone, the 2nd Picture is a Genuine VS Ultra.

Here are the things to look for:
The Motherboard:
Clones
motherboard #: (printed on a sticker and glued to the board)
S39UVS640008735
Genuine
motherboard #: (Not printed on a sticker and not glued to the board)
S3900/3950FAH_VE V0.4 (Imprinted on the Board itself)
Motherboard layout is different on the Clone:
USB Cable connector:
Genuine: At the rear of the Motherboard. (1 White wire in the Strip of black wires)
Clone: At the front of the Motherboard (All White Wires - 1 w/blue stripe)
Power Supply Board:
Genuine: Board is white.
Clone: Board is Tan or Brown and the mounting screws are further back on the Board.

First on is a clone the second one is Genuine.
