How To Up Load Bin File With Usb Stick For VIEWSAT-PRO

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Make sure to format your USB stick to FAT32. You can do it with your PC or with your VS PRO.
Format your USB or HDD WITH VIEWSAT-PRO:
MENU-RECORD-USB PORT- SELECT-OK-SELECT EITHER FRONT OR REAR PORT-OK.PLUG IN THE USB TO THE PORT THAT YOU HAD SELECTED-HARD DISH FORMAT-ENTER PASSWORD ( DEFAULT 0000)-OK- START FORMAT-OK-YES-OK-HDD FORMAT. After DONE hight light USB device safe remove-OK-Remove-OK.
UPLOAD FILE BY USB STICK:
Unzipped current bin file and copy to your USB stick.Insert USB stick to the pre selected USBs port.MENU-INSTALLATION-SW UPDATE LIST-OK-HIGH LIGHT THE FILE -OK-DO NOT POWER OFF-AFTER DONE -REMOVE USB STICK-RECEIVER WILL DO A REBOOT BY ITSELF ( OFF AND BACK TO ON)
For some reason when I had try the above steps ,receiver doesn't recognized my USB. So I turn OFF receiver with the back switch, then inserted the USBs stick ,flip the back switch to ON and the file started to transfer.BUT I was did it with a risk of frying the CPU ??( there were a few thread out there with warning about using this method to upload bin file to VS-PRO)

Viewsat Pro - 4 step burning to DVD Guide

There are 2 Format methods... FAT32 and E2FS

For PVR, the STB calls for a Linux formatted USB device, so unless it's a Linux E2FS formatted USB stick, it ain't gonna happen. You may attempt to format a USB stick in a Linux computer... or search the web for a windows utility to format it as a dual boot device in FAT32 and in Linux

The STB is supposed to bring up a menu when the USB device is first inserted and you take it from there... confirm the port being used, then if No OSD?, then it can't be done in the STB.

FAT32, which is the native USB Stick Format, is used for MP3's and stuff like that... not for PVR

Safe and easy way to burn files to dvd!

Needed programs

1.Videoredo

2. TMPGEnc DVD Author

3. Nero or any program that burn DVD-VIDEO files

Step 1

-Copy your video from the E2FS Linux partition on your hard drive to the fat32 Windows partition.

- Menu - File manager, choose file copy to fat 32 partition

Step 2

Now we have to get the file off the drive onto your PC. I find the best and most reliable method is as follows.

-Connect drive to PC. Open the root folder of the drive. Find video file and right click on it and choose OPEN WITH-VideoRedo.

-Do all the editing you need and then Choose FILE-SAVE VIDEO AS. This takes like 2 minutes (or longer depending on your PC) to encode.

Step 3

It’s now time to authorized your dvd compliant mpeg to DVD-VIDEO FILES.

-open TMPGEnc DVD Author. Open your saved videoredo file

-Create menu (optional)

-Click the Output tab and choose where to save the new DVD-VIDEO file folder

-Click START OUTPUT

Step 4

Now open Nero or any burning rom that’ll burn DVD-VIDEO files.

Nero express

-Video/pictures – DVD-VIDEO FILES- add all the files in your TMPGEnc DVD Author created VIDEO_TS folder and burn away.

You're now finished. Go enjoy your DVD!
