Scammer hater
Starburn search removal:

So the Starburn Search Malware has hijacked your computer and you can't get it off, even after you'v scanned with every spyware/adware/malware and antivirus you could get your hands on.

Yeah I know how you feel, this happened to me too, here is the REAL fix, not some find "[random].exe" and delete it.

How can a human find [random].exe when they have to go though a list of 10,000 [random].exe files and try and determine which is the right one to delete. Impossible!

Here is what to do:

Download and Install then scan with Microsoft Security Essentials its free and you can get it here:

Microsoft Security Essentials - Microsoft Windows

Do a full scan with it.

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from here.

  1. Make sure a check-mark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  2. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  3. Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  4. The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
  5. When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  6. Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

MOST INPORTANT:
Now I bet you open Firefox and noticed it still loading the search.starburnsoftware.com website even after you have reset firefox.
Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox or C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox depending what OS you have installed and...

Delete the files located here:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\local-settings.js"
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\mozilla.cfg"

Or

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref\local-settings.js"
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\mozilla.cfg"

Now reset Firefox to defaults:
  1. At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button, go over to the Help sub-menu and select Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the Reset Firefox button in the upper-right corner of the Troubleshooting Information page.
  3. To continue, click Reset Firefox in the confirmation window that opens.
  4. Firefox will close and be reset. When it's done, a window will list the information that was imported. Click Finish and Firefox will open.

That's it you should have Firefox back up and working normally with you home page can't be changed to what ever you wish it to be.
