Crude oil hovers near $76
NEW YORK, (UPI) -- Crude oil prices dropped from an overnight high to just above $76 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange Thursday.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration said Wednesday that crude oil inventories rose by 2 million barrels in the week ending June 18, adding to pressure on oil trading that was initially pushed from its 2010 peak by the escalating debt crisis in Europe.

From a prior settlement, July delivery crude oil prices dropped 18 cents Thursday morning to $76.17 per barrel. Heating oil prices for July delivery lost 0.0091 cents to $2.0593 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock prices added 0.0003 cents to $2.0826 per gallon. Henry Hub natural gas prices added 0.033 cents to $4.837 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price for unleaded regular gasoline rose to $2.753 per gallon from Wednesday's $2.741, AAA said.
