The bail hearing for a Que. man charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of his two-month-old daughter has been postponed until June 2nd.

Joseph Dumont, 24, faced an additional charge Friday of obstructing the work of police officers.

His daughter was taken to St-Jérôme hospital Tuesday in critical condition.

Doctors managed to resuscitate her, but she died later as a result of her injuries.

According to his lawyer, Olivier Morin, Dumont is in shock.

Dumont has no prior criminal record and will remain in police custody until his next hearing.

The young child's mother is not facing any charges, and the couple's other child, a two-year-old girl, is now in the custody of youth protection services.
