A tornado watch that was is in effect for Winnipeg and much of southern Manitoba has ended.
Environment Canada had said conditions were favourable for the development of funnel clouds or weak tornadoes Saturday afternoon.
Funnel clouds produced by Saturdays's weather conditions don't normally touch the ground, but there was a possibility of one or two tornadoes becoming destructive over a small area, the agency said.
Meteorologist Mark Geryland warned that funnel clouds often appear with little or no warning, and advised anyone who saw a funnel cloud to take shelter until it dissipated.
The warning was in place for most of the day but was lifted at 6:42 p.m. CST.
