What do I have to do to get my PS3 and laptop to recongize one another?
The only way your PS3 and laptop will recognize each other is by installing Linux OS on your PS3.An out-of-the-box PS3 is not compatible with Windows XP.Hope this helps. Good luck!- Musikman
