I'm wondering if the new Phenom II CPUs are compatible with old AM2 motherboards not AM2+, I mean the really old AM2 socket. In particular I'm wondering if the AMD Phenom II X4 955 is compatible with the ASUS M2N32SLI Deluxe Wifi Edition motherboard.I know that a lot of performance is being lost...
serious advice only please. I've heard all about how easy you can overclock and amd processor so I got a new computer with the amd phenom II x6 1100T but can't seem to overclock it without it crashing and reverting to a lower setting? I've watched a youtube video and it still will not set right.
I just bought the AMD Phenom II X4 945, but it is NOT the Black Edition. I believe it is 3GHz. The Motherboard is the Asus M2A-VM and the 5001 BIOS will be in it.Now, does the 5001 BIOS let me overclock the PIIX4 945 I just bought, or does it HAVE to be the Black Edition? :(
I have a Nvidia 6800. I want to be able to play StarCraft 2 when it comes out. My computer can handle StarCraft 1 with 8 players without performance lagging. But WarCraft 3 with 8 players I get frame rate drop. Poor performance. :( I know 8800 GT requires upgrading to a bigger power supply but...

Hi every one,Can I use an Intel Core 2 Duo or an AMD Phenom II processor, with a Dell E510 Dimension motherboard? If not what should I do? Than you for your help.
I am thinking about buying an amd phenom II x4 830 desktop (I don't remember what the motherboard model was) and will probably look to upgrade the cpu if it's too slow. Is the socket that fits the amd x4 different than the one that fits the hexcore x6 1100T?
They are both old graphics cards, (Nvidia FX 5200 and Radeon 9200) and I wasn't sure if i could make my pc run better using them both with a single monitor or not. I know i just need to upgrade but currently cannot.
The book I'm using to build my own gaming computer was published in 2006, so its behind on the times. Can anyone point me in the right direction of which brands are offering the most reliable motherboards that are compatible with a Intel Core i7-970 CPU? I'm not worried about slot count...
I recently bought the AMD Phenom 9600 black edition, and I need a motherboard to go along with it. Quality is more important, but it'd be best if it were around 100 dollars. Any suggestions?
I have a 2.4 rating in my Asus Eee PC Netbook only because of the Intel atom n450, can i just buy and install the intel core i7 in my netbook, if not can i make my computer any faster?
Would know what I would have to do to find out if my computer can support an AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor, could someone give me a list of what I would have to look at and make sure of first, any assistance would be helpful, thank you.
My Dell Dimension 5100 is going to be upgraded soon, and I am wondering if it will support a Core i7 processor. Will it take a lot of money to make it work, or is it cheaper to buy a PC with a core i7 factory installed?
I'm running Ubuntu 9.04 and I am attempting to install an nVidia driver without having to restart because, obviously, then I'll lose all data. I do not have permission to install it on the hard drive, even if I dual-boot and this motherboard won't boot from a flash drive. I want to be able to...
Hi, im building a new computer and was wondering to use AMD or Intel. Im not planning on over clocking and im leaning towards a Crossfire graphics since SLI's software isnt that great right now. But would ya recommend a 3.2Ghz AMD A2 or a 3.0Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo? and other recomendations? im...
Im planning to buy a amd cpu and a new motherboard. And Im planning to replace them with my old system. I dont want to waste money to but a new cpu fan. I have a intel cpu right now. Is the fan also going to work or fit for the amd cpu?
I only know about Intel CPU and know absolutely nothing about AMD. Can anyone tell me the difference(s) between these two? Your opinion is very much appreciated.
I am a little confused on which platform should i choose for my new motherboard. AMD or INTEL.i am more into gaming and looking for cheaper options. i reside in India. which of them is cheaper?
