A-Rod attacker had crush on actress
NEW YORK, -- A deranged fan who ran onto the field at Yankee Stadium was obsessed with Cameron Diaz, a witness to his arrest said.
Grim LeRogue, 33, of the Bronx rushed onto the field in the top of the fifth inning of Monday night's playoff game against the Texas Rangers in an attempt to attack third baseman Alex Rodriquez but was tackled by security, the New York Daily News reported.
Charged with assault and interfering with a sporting event, he is now undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital.
In LeRogue's pocket, police found a picture of Rodriguez with his face crossed out and a gun pointed at his head, a source told the Daily News. Etched on the photo were the words, "You gotta go, buddy." He was "out of his mind" and rambling the whole time he was in custody, the source said.
A-Rod, who was seen dating the actress earlier this year, left the stadium without taking questions.
LeRogue, who was not armed, also told police he wanted to kill Bobby Brown because Osama Bin Laden has a crush on the singer's wife, Whitney Houston, the source said.
