NEW YORK – The actor badly hurt at the Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" returned to the theater for the first time since his accident.
Christopher Tierney, still wearing a back brace, went backstage to wish his castmembers good luck and then watched Friday's performance from the orchestra seats.
The 31-year-old performer said it was "awesome" to be back and added: "It's what I've been waiting for for the past two weeks — to see my friends and finally watch the show."
His return came 2 1/2 weeks after he fell 35 feet when his safety harness failed. Tierney suffered a fractured skull, a fractured shoulder blade, four broken ribs and three broken vertebrae.
He said he hopes to rejoin the $65 million show when he feels strong enough.
