ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. - A recently-retired housekeeper in Alamance Co. came forward with the previously unclaimed $1 million lottery ticket.

Deanna Sanders, of Graham, claimed the prize with a ticket she had purchased from the Snow Camp Raygo, located at 8007 Snow Camp Road in Snow Camp.

According to a press release from the Education Lottery, Sanders said that she plans to use her winnings, worth $680,000 after taxes, to pay bills.

“I did cry,” Sanders said in regards to the moment in which she realized that she had won. “But besides crying, I don’t think I really felt anything. Scared. Because that is a lot of responsibility.”

The Snow Camp Raygo is also eligible for a $10,000 bonus incentive for selling the winning ticket.
