Anti-Israel graffiti defacing the building that houses the Israeli Embassy in Ottawa was washed off on Wednesday.
The overnight vandalism included two spray-painted messages that emblazoned the downtown tower where the Israeli Embassy is located, steps from Parliament Hill.
One of the messages on the ground at the building's entrance read: "Embasy (sic) of war crimes." The other message, written on a wall, read: "Israel war crimes."
Neither the embassy nor the RCMP, which is tasked with protecting the facility, commented on the vandalism.
The incident occurred just hours after Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the United States Congress, rejecting U.S. President Barack Obama's proposals for the creation of a Palestinian state based on the demarcation lines that existed before the 1967 Six Day War.
