Can you use a WiFi adapter to connect to Bluetooth devices?

Is it possible to connect a Bluetooth device with a WiFi dongle? They are both using the same protocol 802.11g? Do I need special software?

Sadly that will not work. Each of them employ distinct encoding, even though they use the identical wavelengths. They aren't compatible with the each other. Bluetooth is a "slow" connection designed to replace a cable from your printer. Right from the start WiFi was intended for high-speed internet / network connections. Bluetooth doesn't employ 802.11g. Buy yourself a tiny USB Bluetooth adapter, they go for as little as $5.

Bluetooth utilizes a Frequency Jumping method and Wifi employs Direct Sequence Spreading methods. Consequently they only "see" one another as stadic and never as a signal.
