VANCOUVER – Canada won the Olympic men's short track 5,000 meters relay on Friday with Charles Hamelin picking up his second gold of the day.

South Korea took silver and the United States got the bronze in a crowded final featuring five teams instead of the usual four because France were advanced from the semi-finals.

Canada will have felt they claimed back the gold after losing it to South Korea in the last lap in 2006.

There were jubilant scenes after the home country had also won gold and bronze in the men's 500 meters earlier in the day through Hamelin and Francois-Louis Tremblay.
