Crude oil prices near $73
NEW YORK, (UPI) -- Crude oil prices rose to nearly $73 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange Wednesday with the dollar index virtually flat, up 0.02 percent.
Traders found tentative confidence in the Dow Jones industrial average, which broke a streak of seven losing sessions Tuesday, adding 0.59 percent or 57 points.
Overnight, August delivery light, sweet crude oil added 91 cents to $72.89 per barrel.
Heating oil prices for August gained 0.0374 cents to $1.9546 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock prices rose 0.0304 cents from a prior settlement to $2.0017 per gallon. Henry Hub natural gas prices for August lost 0.019 cents to $4.663 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for unleaded regular gasoline was dropped to $2.721 Wednesday from Tuesday's $2.724 per gallon, AAA said.
