Dog jumps into car, runs over owner
RIDGE MANOR, Fla., (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a man checking for an oil spill under his truck was run over when his dog jumped in the open door and knocked the vehicle into gear.
The Hernando County Sheriff's Office said Christopher Bishop, 43, was checking for oil leaks under his Ford F-150 in Ridge Manor at 8 p.m. Sunday when his bulldog, Tassey, jumped into the driver's seat and knocked the vehicle into gear, the St. Petersburg Times reported Thursday.
Bishop, whose left side was run over, was able to get into the truck and stop it before it struck a fence. He said he waited several hours to call for medical attention because he has a problem with doctors.
Bishop was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Pasco Regional Hospital.
