Kabul, Afghanistan (CNN) -- Nine people were killed in eastern Afghanistan Thursday after gunmen attacked a wedding party, a local official said.
The incident occurred at about 1 a.m. in a home in Nangarhar province, said Ahmadzia Abdulzai, a spokesman for the provincial governor.
All the people killed in the incident were related to Hamisha Gul, a local government official, Abdulzai said.
Five others were injured in the attack.
