'Hospital,' 'Bold' up for Daytime Emmys
LAS VEGAS, (UPI) -- "The Bold and the Beautiful" and "The Young and the Restless" were among the nominees for the outstanding daytime drama Emmy announced in New York Wednesday.

Also nominated in the category are "General Hospital" and "All My Children."

The 37th annual Daytime Emmy Awards show is to be broadcast live from Las Vegas June 27 on the CBS Television Network. This will be the first time the awards ceremony will take place in the Nevada city.

Agnes Nixon -- the grand dame of the daytime serial drama, who created the series "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" -- is to be presented with this year's Lifetime Achievement Award.

In the running for outstanding lead actress in a drama series are Crystal Chappell of "Guiding Light;" Michelle Stafford of "The Young and the Restless;" Maura West of "As the World Turns;" Sarah Brown of "General Hospital;" and Bobbie Eakes of "All My Children."

Nominated for outstanding lead actor in a drama series are Peter Bergman from "The Young and the Restless;" Jon Lindstrom and Michael Park from "As the World Turns;" Doug Davidson from "The Young and the Restless;" and James Scott from "Days of Our Lives."

Shortlisted for outstanding entertainment talk show are "Rachael Ray," "Live With Regis and Kelly" and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Vying for the title of outstanding informative talk show are "Dr. Phil," "The Doctors" and "The Dr. Oz Show."

The nominees for outstanding talk show host are Rachael Ray for "The Rachael Ray Show;" Bonnie Hunt for "The Bonnie Hunt Show;" Dr. Mehmet Oz for "The Dr. Oz Show;" Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa for "Live! with Regis and Kelly;" and Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Sherri Shepherd, Barbara Walters for "The View."
