Click Start > Run and type "msconfig" at the command prompt.
Click the Startup tab and look at all that junk that loads when you start your computer.
Turn off anything looks useless, but be very careful not to disable important programs like your anti-virus. This will increase your computer start up time and performance.

click "services" than click or put a check mark in "Hide all Microsoft Services"
Disable more useless program from starting up, again be careful not to disable your important programs, but if you make a mistake go back in and turn it on. If you don't know if it is safe to turn off, post the name of the service/program here we will let you know if it is safe to turn off.
