'Idol' contender age lowered to 15
LOS ANGELES, (UPI) -- Fox says it is lowering the minimum age requirement for "American Idol" contestants from 16 to 15, EW.com reported Tuesday.
"A lot of young, talented people are now seeking careers and representation before they turn 16. Lowering the age limit allows us to tap into this talent pool," "Idol" executive producer Cecile Frot-Coutaz said in a statement.
Season 10 of the singing competition show is to debut in January.
