is it always necessary to uninstall previous display drivers?

just asking here cause i was wondering if it is always necessary to uninstall previous display drivers before installing new ones...i know if you are having problems with the current one, it is necessary to uninstall that driver before installing the new one...but i was wondering if it is always necessary if you are just updating and have no issues with the current driver?

No, you don't have to uninstall the old one first. If the driver you have works fine...maybe don't install a newer one. It's the old adage...if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
