I just bought Windows 7 (64-bit) and I need to install drivers for my Sony Digital Voice Recorder (ICD-P520). They only have drivers for Win7 32-bit computers. Is there a rish in trying this anyways?

no, it simply wont work.you need to install xpmode ifyou have a compatible version, ultimate, etc, and then use it for those situations...while some people don't seem to understand the difference between a 32-bit program and 32-bit drivers, you specifically wrote 'drivers", so i am correct as 32 bit drivers wont work and usually wont even load on a 64 bit system. any answer which says otherwise obviousleither didn't really read your question or is completely out of their depth on this.

32- bit applications cannot work on a 64-bit computerIt will have a pop up when your try to run the applications saying for 32-bit only.

Hi Danny,Most programs that are designed for 32-bit Windows will work with 64-bit Windows. However, if you have a device that ONLY has 32-bit drivers, it will not work properly with 64-bit Windows. I recommend contacting Sony and asking if / when there will be 64-bit drivers available. To answer, your question, trying the 32-bit drivers shouldn't cause any harm, they just simply will not work properly.
