June Playboy centerfold will be in 3D
CHICAGO, (UPI) -- Playboy says it will publish its first 3D centerfold in the U.S. magazine's June issue, available on newsstands and online Friday.
"Playboy's 2010 Playmate of the Year Hope Dworacyzk is featured in the seductive 3D nude image, which comes to life before readers' own eyes," the magazine said in a news release Tuesday. "The first-of-its-kind centerfold is sponsored by HBO to promote the launch of 'True Blood' Season 3, which premieres on the network June 13. The centerfold is also accompanied by a 3D 'True Blood' ad, complimentary 3D glasses, and a series-themed Data Sheet with vampire-inspired stats and facts -- adding a creative, new twist to the classic magazine feature."
"I wanted to create a 3D pictorial for the very first issue of Playboy, but didn't have enough money to include the 3D glasses," Playboy founder Hugh M. Hefner said in a statement. "I'm happy to see the idea come to fruition with the help of one of my favorite TV shows, 'True Blood,' and I think Playboy fans will enjoy seeing our Playmate of the Year's true form."
