Lawyer: Snooki pleads not guilty
NEW YORK, A lawyer for TV's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi pleaded not guilty on her behalf to several charges stemming from her arrest last month on a New Jersey beach.
Polizzi, the 22-year-old star of the reality show "Jersey Shore," was arrested July 30 for her alleged alcohol-fueled bad behavior in Seaside Heights.
The New York Post reported attorney Raymond Reya entered a plea of not guilty to charges of disorderly conduct, public nuisance and "annoying others on the beach."
Polizzi, who was not required to attend Wednesday's hearing and didn't, may be fined $500 for disorderly conduct and $2,000 for each of the other charges if found guilty, the Post said.
"We added the additional (annoying others) charge after looking at all the information," municipal prosecutor Kim Pascarella told the newspaper. "It seemed a little more appropriate."
The next hearing on the matter is set for Sept. 8.
