Lockheed Martin opens battle center
ORLANDO, Fla., (UPI) -- Construction of a new demonstration center for audiovisual battlefield simulation has been completed in Florida, Lockheed Martin announced.
The company said in a release its Joint Battle Command-Platform Demonstration Center in Orlando presents a "new approach" to exchanging integrated battle command information between aerial platform and ground platforms and dismounted troops in Tactical Operations Centers.
The result, it said, is force multiplying.
"Our JBC-P integration and demonstration center uses innovative technologies to present a mature vision of next-generation tactical situational awareness," said Rich Russell, the director of Sensors, Data Links and Advanced Programs of Lockheed Martin Missile and Fire Control.
"The center ultimately benefits warfighters by helping both the government and the industry expand our concept of operations for the Lockheed Martin JBS-P solution."
The company said its hand-held Tactical Digital Assistant that sends and receives data and sensor information is integral to the center. The device keeps troops up to date and gives them total situational awareness in real time.
