Mexico looking for ex-'Survivor' producer
MEXICO CITY, (UPI) -- Mexican officials, investigating the death of his wife, say they haven't been able to find a former U.S. producer of "Survivor" for several days.
Producer Bruce Beresford-Redman had been ordered to stay in Mexico to answer questions. His wife, Monica, was found dead last month in a sewer pipe near the Cancun hotel where they had been staying, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The Mexican officials initially held Beresford-Redman for questioning but did not charge him. Instead, they confiscated his passport and told him not to leave Mexico while the investigation went on. Regional authorities have asked the U.S. Embassy to try to locate Beresford-Roman, with no success, a Mexican official said. The official said it would be "premature" to say the producer had disappeared.
Beresford-Redman worked for several seasons on the popular CBS show "Survivor," was nominated for three Emmys as a producer on the show and was last credited as a producer in 2004, CNN reported.
His wife, Monica Beresford-Redman, was a native of Brazil and owned a restaurant in Los Angeles.
