MLB: Los Angeles Angels 6, Toronto 5
ANAHEIM, Calif., (UPI) -- Bobby Abreu singled in Juan Rivera from third with two out in the ninth inning Wednesday, giving the Los Angeles Angels a 6-5 win over Toronto.

Scott Downs worked a perfect eighth for Toronto and the Blue Jays tied it in the top of the ninth on John Buck's RBI double.

Downs (1-4) stayed on for the bottom of the ninth, but he gave up a leadoff double to Mike Napoli. Maicer Izturis grounded out to first, moving Napoli to third, and both Rivera and Erick Aybar were intentionally walked to load the bases.

Howie Kendrick hit a grounder to short, on which Napoli was cut down at home for the second out of the inning. Abreu worked a 2-2 count against Downs before driving a shot into left field that brought home Rivera.

Abreu also had a sacrifice fly in the third, helping the Angels win their second straight. Los Angeles is 8-5 in its last 13 games after suffering a 3-10 skid.

Brian Fuentes (2-1) got the victory despite allowing the tying run in the top of the ninth.

Toronto finished an eight-game road trip with a 3-5 mark.
