KANSAS CITY, Mo., Minnesota's Carl Pavano labored through five innings but posted his eighth consecutive win Tuesday in the torrid Twins' 11-2 romp over Kansas City.

Pavano (13-6), who has not lost since June 9, threw 98 pitches and gave up one run on five hits over five innings.

Minnesota racked up 19 hits and scored in five of nine innings.

Minnesota has scored 47 runs on 72 hits in its last four games and has scored double-digit runs in three consecutive games.

Danny Valencia had four hits and drove in three runs for the Twins. Joe Mauer went 2-for-4 with two RBI and J.J. Hardy had a solo home run and an RBI single.

Bruce Chen (5-5) took the loss. He was roughed up for six runs on 11 hits over 5 1/3 innings. Scott Podsednik drove in one of Kansas City's runs and extended his hitting streak to 14 games.
