NBA: Boston 95, Orlando 92
ORLANDO, Fla., (UPI) -- Paul Pierce had 28 points, five assists and five rebounds Tuesday and the Boston Celtics beat Orlando 95-92 to go up 2-0 in the NBA Eastern Conference finals.

Rajon Rondo added 25 points and eight assists for the Celtics.

Orlando's Dwight Howard led all scorers with 30 points. J.J. Redick and Vince Carter each had 16 for the Magic, who shot 39 percent from the field but outscored the Celtics 22-17 in the fourth quarter.

Carter missed a pair of clutch free throws in the closing seconds after Pierce fouled out with 31.9 seconds to play. After Kevin Garnett missed on a field goal try, the Magic's Jameer Nelson only had time for a 30-foot desperation shot that fell short at the buzzer.

The series moves to Boston for Game 3 Saturday.
