PORTLAND, Ore. -- The search for a 7-year-old Portland boy who has been missing for more than a week has been scaled down, but authorities insist they will not let the case turn cold.
Multnomah County sheriff's Capt. Jason Gates said Monday that the search for Kyron Horman is no longer a search and rescue operation. On Sunday, the sheriff's office sent home search and rescue teams from across the state.
Horman went missing June 4, and the sheriff's office says the case is now a criminal investigation.
Gates says parents at Skyline Elementary School, where Kyron was last seen, should not be concerned that his disappearance is part of a pattern.
The sheriff's office has offered a $25,000 reward to help find Kyron
