President relaxing in Maine for weekend
BAR HARBOR, Maine, President Obama and his family are spending the weekend in Bar Harbor, Maine, getting a break from muggy weather and political heat in Washington.

The first couple headed to the Bar Harbor Club Saturday morning with their one of their two daughters, Malia, and Reggie Love, the president's personal assistant or body man. The club, built by banker J.P. Morgan, offers clay tennis courts and a fitness center and spa.

Obama, in what is normally thought of as Boston Red Sox country, wore a Chicago White Sox cap.

Critics have said Obama should have gone to the Gulf of Mexico coast if he was going to leave town at all. But many residents of Maine have welcomed him, CNN reports.

Russell D'Alessio, an artist with a gallery in Bar Harbor, has two posters, one with a Maine harbor scene and a message of welcome to the president, and the other thanking the president and Michelle Obama. Instead of selling them, he is giving them away, requesting donations to help bird life injured by the gulf oil spill.
