Prosecutor: Vick in face-off with victim
VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., (UPI) -- Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick had a "confrontation" with the victim of a shooting at his birthday party, a Virginia prosecutor said Wednesday.

Commonwealth's Attorney Harvey Bryant said Vick was gone by the time the shooting outside a club in Virginia Beach occurred, WAVY-TV reported. But he said a few minutes earlier there was "shouting, words passing, some bumping."

No one has been charged with the shooting, although police say they have identified the person who pulled the trigger. Investigators say witnesses, including the victim, have not been helpful.

Bryant said Vick was in a limo and about to leave when he got into the fight.

"In terms of just using good judgment, at one point, he got in the limousine, and should have left at that point," Bryant said. "He got out of the limousine, and with the help of several friends, he was returned to the limousine and left."

Vick is one of the most controversial and hated sports stars of the moment because of his conviction for running a dog-fighting operation. So far, the Eagles have kept him on the roster.
