ATLANTA – A Georgia county court released top-selling rapper Waka Flocka Flame on bond after he spent two nights in jail on drugs and weapons charges, authorities said on Thursday.

Police charged the performer, whose real name is Jaquin Malphurs, last month after they raided his suburban Atlanta home.

Malphurs, already on probation for possession of a sawed-off shotgun in an earlier incident, was not present during December's raid and turned himself in on Monday.

Malphurs was released late on Wednesday, an official in Henry county's sheriff's Department said.

The artist's current album, Flockaveli, ranked 10th on the Billboard Magazine chart of top rap albums on Thursday.
