CATASAUQUA, Pa. -- An all-day search for two missing teenagers has ended with them being found alive.
The chief of the Catasauqua Police Department in Lehigh County told 69 News that Warren Houtling and Mariah Lopez, both 16, have been taken to the hospital for observation.
Lopez's family said the teens spent the night sleeping behind a billboard, and they were walking to Nazareth along route 329 when they were spotted by a police officer shortly after 5pm.
Emergency crews focused much of their search earlier on Friday on the Lehigh River, acting on information that they may have jumped in the water.
Police said Houtling, of North Catasauqua, and Lopez, of Catasauqua, left notes at their homes that said they were planning to jump off the Race Street bridge.
Lopez's family said the teens never did jump from the bridge.
