S. Korean FM says no six-nation talks yet
SEOUL, (UPI) -- South Korea wants a resolution of the sinking of its warship before resuming talks on North Korea's nuclear disarmament, its foreign minister said Tuesday.

The six-nation talks on North Korea's nuclear disarmament remain stalled since Pyongyang pulled out to protest U.N. sanctions against it. South Korea is one of the six members in the process, along with North Korea, the United States, China, Russia and Japan.

Relations between the two Koreans have plunged following the sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan in the Yellow Sea, which killed 46 of its soldiers. An international team of investigators concluded the ship was destroyed by a North Korean torpedo, a charge North Korea has strongly denied.

Speaking in parliament Tuesday, South Korean Foreign Minister Yu Myung-hwan said, "As North Korea was found to have sunk the warship Cheonan, the government will concentrate on the Cheonan incident at this stage," Yonhap news agency reported.

South Korea has taken the issue to the U.N. Security Council for additional sanctions against North Korea.

"(The government) will consult related countries on resuming six-party talks after completing its response," Yu said.
