SeaWorld's Manta ride stopped on a lift, causing a brief panic for riders Friday afternoon.

A spokesman for the park said a safety sensor went off, automatically halting the ride, which was carrying around 30 people.

SeaWorld personnel evacuated the ride at 12:30 p.m., while it was 100 feet up in the air.

No one was injured during the evacuation.

The ride was back up and running around 1:15 p.m.

Two trains were affected -- one was pulling into the station while the other was going up the lift.

The maintenance staff ran the trains without passengers for a few times to make sure all was running well before letting guests get back on.

SeaWorld released a statement Friday regarding the incident:

Just before noon today, a sensor on the Manta roller coaster at SeaWorld Orlando automatically stopped the coaster, as the ride's safety system is intended and designed to do.

With guests comfort in mind, the park's ride and operations experts assisted riders off the coaster. No guests were stuck upside down and all guests safely exited the ride.

Operators are working now to get the ride running as soon as possible and expect to have it running at full capacity within a very short time.
