Twin-engine plane crashes, killing seven
QUEBEC CITY, (UPI) -- Seven people aboard a twin-engine airplane died Wednesday when the aircraft crashed near an airport in Quebec City, Canadian emergency personnel said.

A pilot and six passengers were on board when the plane crashed after trying to take off from the Jean-Lesage airport and burst into flames , the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

Officials said the twin-engine Beechcraft King Air plane apparently experienced trouble at takeoff and went down in a field northwest of the airport.

The aircraft, owned by charter company Aeropro, was traveling to Sept-Iles on Quebec's North Shore when it crashed, authorities said.

Maxime Marois told the CBC he and others in his home were awakened by a loud boom that sounded like "lightning struck the ground."
