Warriors' Lee undergoes elbow surgery
OAKLAND, Calif., -- Golden State Warriors forward David Lee is recovering from successful elbow surgery to remove an infection, the team said Saturday.
The 27-year-old was injured Wednesday during the Warriors' 122-117 victory in New York, sustaining a deep laceration to the elbow.
The Warriors said Dr. Frank Chen performed the procedure at the Fremont, Calif., Surgery Center.
Lee, who was traded from the Knicks to Golden State in a six-year, $80 million sign-and-trade deal, had just celebrated his return to Madison Square Garden by scoring a season-high 28 points.
He has averaged 14.3 points and 11.3 rebounds in eight games this season.
