Wladimir Klitschko to fight Dereck Chisora

BERLIN – Wladimir Klitschko will defend his IBF heavyweight title against Dereck Chisora of Britain in Mannheim on Dec. 11.

Commonwealth champion Chisora was "a very dangerous opponent," Klitschko said on Tuesday. "Chisora is young, quick and a very hard puncher."

Last month, Klitschko stopped Samuel Peter of Nigeria in the 10th round to retain the title. The 34-year-old Ukrainian also owns the minor WBO and IBO belts.

It was Klitschko's ninth title defense and improved his record to 55-3. Chisora has won all of his 14 professional fights.

"This is about glory for me and becoming the heavyweight champion of the world, something I've dreamed about since I started boxing," Chisora said.

"The Klitschkos have ruled for too long and I can't wait to get into the ring in Germany and smash the living daylights out of Wladimir first." Then he declared he would "deal with" the elder Klitschko brother, WBC champion Vitali.
