BROWNNOSE

BOOTLICKER
how to update your mini made simple

download the latest factory file.factory files are always sticky posted in the download section.

download the latest file.this will be the first unstuck file in the list.you will see the dates to the right to insure its the latest.

in a separate download section called tools/patches download the latest patch if there is one for your file.if your not sure please ask.

right click on the files and extract them from their zip folders.

drag and drop them onto the usb stick.
(simply insert the usb stick into your pc and select view folder or navigate to the device and open it)

safely remove usb stick and take to unit.flip down the door and insert the stick.

press menu-utility-usb.

select the Factory file and load as B/L (bootloader)
receiver will reboot when finished.

press menu-utility-usb.

select the latest file (.UNO) and load as S/W (software)
receiver will reboot when finished.

your now done.

if and when there is a new patch file-(.EXX)

press menu-utility-usb.

select the patch and press ok.(no options on how to load a patch simply press ok on it to load)

wait a few seconds.the patch file is very small and loads very fast.there is no indicator letting you know its loading.
receiver will reboot when finished.

your now done.
.................................................. ...................

if another patch comes along, simply load the patch.done.

if another file comes along, load the file as mentioned as S/W (software)done.

you only have to load the latest Factory file once.it doesn't have to be loaded between files or patches.
however if a new Factory file is posted, you MUST load it once also.

factory files= load one time.load as B/L always.once updated forget them.
(unless otherwise instructed)

files(.UNO)=load as S/W and as often as they come out.
(unless otherwise instructed)

patches(.EXX)= only option is to load by pressing ok on them.
patches ONLY work on top of the latest files(.UNO).so you must keep normal files updated.you will not harm anything if loaded on top of an old file,it just wont work.
patches are a small simple files that work on the mini/duo/trio.

if you are instructed to load something as B/L (bootloader) then:
insert your usb stick and save your channel list to the usb.(menu-utility-usb then press the green key to save.)
B/L (bootloader) does a factory default when it loads which removes all user settings and channels.so once finished.load your list back.
or if you would prefer, forget saving and loading list.but you will have to setup your user settings,Antenna settings and rescan.if you spent along time setting up favorites and locks etc.its important to save to your usb stick so it can simply be loaded back after a B/L (bootloader) update is performed.

GOOD LUCK
enjoy all :dirol:
