Hello, just got my Nano 2 and trying to set it up and update it. System Info says: MV 08.11 and LDR 1.08, can you tell me which exact files I would need give my system now to put onto my USB card for updating? Thanks so much!

(1 ) C/P

When the Unit was brand new it had this software:

SW MV08.11 June 28 LDR 1.08
HW VER 1.00

After I loaded 1.29NPN it had this software:

SW:MV01.29 June 16 LDR 1.08
HW Ver: 1.0

I did not load 8.10 NPN with the Boot Loader Upgrade. Now I have been parked on channel 200 for 4 hours. Still no good. Seems like the next step is to load 8.10 NPN with the Boot Loader Upgrade and then try to register. When I saw SW MV08.11 in the new Unit , I thought I did not have to upgrade the factory firmware

( 2 ) another C/P
here are some of the set up # that might help you
Nano2 setup
1 - load Factory file NPN_8.10_Factory
2 - load NPN_1.29 file
here is the proper way to set up serial
Network Settings - Manual
ip address - 192.168. 0.178 ( EXAMPLE) use your IP address
subnet mask - 225.255.255.0 (use this setting)
Gateway - 192.168.0.1 ( same as IP only Shorter)
DNS - 192.168.0.1 ( same as IP only shorter )
2nd DNS - 205.210.42.205 (use this setting)
hit apply and leave it on manual
this will work for every IKS box
i have set my nano2 and WF with same settings only different ip address.

thanks buttman302, ok so you are saying the systems are down, and i am unable to register right now with manual or auto network settings. my question is i set-up the satellite on my balcony and ran the wire straight to the receiver w/out using the dieseq switch that was in the box. with the installation settings i am only getting 80 signal and 0 quality with no channels being found on channel search. Is this because of my set-up or because the system is down?

you should be able to set up for your single with the system being down anyway,,
and after you get your singles in go to channel 101 it on if system server are down anyway

being it's new after it is all set up just reboot from the switch and"
walk away and let it sit" it may take time to come in

OK well I finally got a green bar on the QUALITY side so I guess all I have to do is wait until IKS will let me register the Nano 2, hopefully that will be any day now, I dont want to wait 2 weeks just to register.

Hey thanks for the tip! Yes I am getting 101, it's officially my first signal/channel I got and a confidence booster. It makes me feel like I am doing things correctly and following everyone's helpful threads and suggestions. So I pretty much think I'm at the point to just wait until CNX server allows new systems to register for IKS. Hey, do you know what quality you get with just the regular red, yellow, white cable? Im looking at 101 and it's not too bad better than I expected.

Hey chs have you tryed to set your box manualy yet if you do try these numbers for the Nano2 setup and is the proper way to set up serial

Network Settings - Manual

ip address - 192.168. 0.178 ( EXAMPLE) you put the #'s in push the OK button to save the #'s
subnet mask - 225.255.255.0, after you put the #'s in push the OK button to save the #'s
Gateway - 192.168.0.1, after you put the #'s in push the OK button to save the #'s
DNS - 192.168.0.1, after you put the #'s in push the OK button to save the #'s

hit apply and leave it on manuel exit out
then go to reg. apply if failed that OK Exit all out and put on a channel I like 189

then turn off at the switch in the back wait 10 sec. then on and walk away,,

after an hour go up 1 channel and then right back down too channel 189
"I think this help to push the server to connect"

this will work for every IKS box...

good luck buddy

Ok thanks, I just tried it manual with my ip address like your example above and it still said "failed, reboot after 3 seconds", so i have it on 189 right now and will wait an hr, go up one channel then back to 189 and try again with IKS registration. I will post my results in 1 hr. Lets hope this works.

Ok it had been an hour and I went up a channel then back to 189 and nothing happened, I then went into the menu and tried the IKS registration while still in the manual network settings and still says error: reboot in 3 seconds. I hope they figure this out because it is pretty frustrating. Thanks for your help anyways, if you think of anything else please let me know.
