How to screw up your coolsat

c\p thanks goes to Catfishnut

Everyone, please listen to this. I did this on purpose to show you what may happen if you do not follow instructions during the process of loading a new bin file.

Fortunately, my receivers did not lock up, but I now have a good example of what can happen, besides the worst case scenario. For the past few bin files, I have loaded one bin over the other, without using the procedure that I outlined in the HOW TOs. I got away with this for two or three downloads with no problem.

Guess what happened just tonight? Yeah, I tried to load bin 192 right over the existing bin. Both of my receivers developed problems immediately!

One receiver lost most of the satellites and half of the channels that were on the remaining sats.

The other receiver started scanning satellites all on it's own and will not exit the scan menu, it will not respond to my remote control commands!

I did this on purpose, testing this way, just to prove the point and it has proven itself! Now I have to repair the damages.

I felt it was important for you all to follow along with this as some people may not believe that this can happen to them. Now, you can believe that this can even happen to me if I do not follow the rules.

I hope it doesn't take too long to repair this. I will let you know.
