Just about any receiver will work (except the nfusion, because it won't do a blind scan)with only the factory file and no internet connection. Of course they will only work for True FTA. In addition you would Also need at least a 30" dish, special LNB's and a motor would help. With True FTA there are a number of satellites you can receive, but you can not get DN or Bev. It is also much harder to tune your dish to the Fta sats so a lot of people use a sat finder meter. If you are going to go this route, you need to do a lot of reading and make sure that is what you want to do, because the channels are limited.:)

Viewsats are working with internet connection and a Weather Forecaster Dongle that connects to viewsats serial plug and to router.
Or you can also connect without the W/F if you have a computer running ubuntu (linux) and files to emulate the W/F.
But either way wiewsat Ultras, Lights, HD9000 and Max work great.
I personally have the W/F once in a while there is a server problem but gets solved pretty fast.
