[Help!] New CS 7100 scrambled channels

I bought a second 7100 PVR. I downloaded the latest factory bin v114 and the latest fix, v187. I did the autoscan and got all the channels, but they still come up scrambled. I compared the system information with my other 7100 that works just great.

I'm looking at echostar 8.1 and 7.
The frequencies are set the same as my working 7100. I tried loading it several different times, following Casper7's instructions. Which work great on my other coolsat's.

I have tried everything I can think of.

So, did I just get a bad box , or is there something I can do? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

First you will need to download the factory flash and the new bin to your computer. I put them in a new folder name it coolsat

Next open the 7k loader, select software, select the factory flash and hit download.

The loader should now say "reset your box" which means to turn it off using the swith on the rear of the unit. Turn off in the back, wait 3 seconds and turn back on. The loader should then start the download automatically. Continue until you see "download complete" and the display on the front of the receiver finishes loading.

Do the same procedure to load the new bin.

Then set your settings again (if you have a usb drive you can save your settings and restore them with one button) including sats, time, remap locals, etc. Make sure that "auto ch/tp update" is turned to "off" (see set up for dummies for reason why).

After you have your settings done then go and do a channel search on all your sats. Very important to turn network search off when scanning your birds.

After scanning for channels go to channel 239 (wgn) and press the "epg" button on your remote. When the pop up appears then press the "blue" button on your remote and the pop up should change from 3 days to 9 days of epg. Sit back and relax as the 9 day epg population takes approximately 15 minutes.

Once populated you are good to go. If the epg pop up does not stay on the screen you did something wrong and I suggest you back to step one and reload all from the beginning.

One more note, any time you populate or repopulate the epg any programs you have set to record will be deleted from the time manager so reset your programs to record after loading the bin or repopulating your epg.

I originally loaded using the USB, I used factory v.114 and the latest bin, v187. I tried doing a system reset, now I can't seem to get anything to download using the cables

Tried that, nothing is happening. Also tried the "you gotta be quick" approach that was posted before in the how to properly load instructions. It just sits there. I'm thinking I was sold a bad box.

OK, It said to reset, it just sat there, nothing happened, but when I hit "stop", it said transfer complete?????????? I will try doing a bird search and see what happens.

I don't think the cable is working. I've tried everything, but can't get it to download. Started from scratch a couple of times......nothing. I think I was sold a defective box...unless someone else has any other ideas.???

hi I'm new in this. I install the last bin v187 but many channels are scrambled. I use coolsat 7000 loader. this loader can use with the coolsat 7100 receiver. I need help with this. thanks

turn receiver off from the rear and wait 4 minutes then turn back on remember turn off from the rear.....
