I am running a duel core AMD laptop right now and I am perfectly happy with it and the price point. It really all depends on what you plan on doing with your laptop. If it is for general use such as email and web surfing and maybe some home work either process or would do you just fine. I would be more concerned about system memory and hard drive space at this point. If you are looking for a gaming laptop then you are going to pay some money either way. There are so many processors out there by each manufacturer that it is hard to say. I would look at what you are willing to pay for a laptop then based your search on what you get as a whole at that price point (processor, memory, hard drive size, USB ports, HD, screen size, etc).Either processor will most likely support your needs.
